19-year-old woman found dead inside walk-in oven at Walmart bakery

Tragedy has struck in Halifax Nova Scotia, where a 19-year-old girl was found dead inside a walk-in oven at a Walmart bakery.

Police were called to the store on Oct. 19, 2024 at around 9:30 pm at 6990 Mumford Road.

Halifax Police confirmed the victim was an employee at the store.

The investigation is not yet complete, and police have noted that a cause and manner of death have not been confirmed yet.

Several partner agencies are involved, including Occupational Health and Safety and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

“An investigation of this nature may take a significant amount of time,” police said.

“We urge the public to be mindful of sharing speculative information on social media. Please be aware of the impacts that speculation could have on family, colleagues and loved ones of the woman.”
