RCMP ID Saskatchewan First Nation quadruple homicide victims

The Saskatchewan RCMP have released the names and pictures of four people that were killed in a quadruple homicide on a small reservation east of Regina.

Police have said that the homicide victims were injured by a firearm on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation on Feb. 4.

At this time no arrests have been made in relation to the deaths.

Pictures of those who were killed are being released with permission from the victim’s families in the hopes it will move the investigation forward.

The victims include 34-year-old Tracey Hotomani of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, 44-year-old Sheldon Quewezance of Zagime Anishinabek, 47-year-old Shauna Fay of Indian Head and 51-year-old Terry Jack of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.

The RCMP said an investigation is ongoing, which includes speaking with people who may have relevant information to share as well as evidence analysis and neighbourhood canvases.

Inspector Ashley St. Germaine, Senior Investigative Officer of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, advised people to avoid spreading rumours and instead speak directly with police if they had any information that might benefit the investigation.

“We are actively investigating this tragedy to piece together the details of what happened - this takes time. We must be mindful that releasing more specific details could impact the overall investigation,” Insp. St. Germaine said.

“Please remember the loss the victim’s loved ones have experienced.”

The deaths were reported on Feb. 4 around 11:15 am when the File Hills First Nation Police Service received a report of sudden deaths at a house on the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.

The First Nation is about 80 kilometres east of Regina.
