Photos released of unidentified man on scooter in Kelowna crash that left rider seriously injured

The Kelowna RCMP is hoping a pair of photos can help identify a mysterious scooter rider who was involved in a serious crash nearly two months ago.

The collision between two e-scooters in the early evening hours of April 6 resulted in one man being hospitalized with significant injuries.

He suffered a fractured jaw and concussion, according to his sister in a post to the Kelowna Alert Facebook group appealing for information in the hours after the crash.

The other rider involved in the collision outside Know Mountain Market in the 800 block of Ellis Street fled the scene and police have been searching for him ever since.

An RCMP release issued two days after the crash provided a description of the man, but police have finally acquired photos of the rider and released them to the public today.

“The Kelowna RCMP has recently received updated photographs of the unidentified rider,” explained Cpl. Allison Konsmo. “Anyone who can identify or has any information regarding the identity of the rider is requested to contact the Kelowna RCMP.”

The photos show the camouflage clothing and full face helmet the man was wearing at the time, along with his orange and black scooter. Police previously said the rider is slim and shorter in nature.

Anyone who can help the RCMP identify the rider can call the detachment at 250-762-3300 and quote file number 2025-18072. You can also submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
