Kelowna Raiders fall short of lacrosse title against Armstrong

After two consecutive years of winning the championship, the Kelowna Raiders fell just short of a three-peat as the Armstrong Shamrocks won 11-10 in the winner-take-all Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League game three on Friday.

The Raiders' next stop is the BC Senior “C” Provincial Championship being held in Kelowna at the beginning of August.

From August 8 to 11, around 10 teams from the four BC senior “C” lacrosse leagues will play downtown at Memorial Arena.

The four winners of each league, along with the host, will be eligible to compete for the provincial championship, while the other teams will be after the Fred Doig Invitational Cup.

The Raiders are the defending provincial champions and will have their eye set on keeping the title in the Central Okanagan in August.

The Shamrocks win marked the 11th time they have hoisted the historic Rowcliffe Cup since the formation of the Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League in 1994.
