Severe thunderstorm watch issued for the Okanagan Valley

As forecast this morning, a storm could be coming to Kelowna today.

Environment Canada has now issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Okanagan Valley.

Its bulletin warns: “Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.”

The forecaster explained that watches are issued “when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.”
